The NYS Psychological Association is a 501c6 organization representing psychologist in the state of New York. We currently have more than 3,000 members and a very active leadership base. We also operate a Foundation 501c3 to provide education to the public on mental health issues and to promote education of other professions on the psychologists’ role in the healthcare spectrum.

 

We have an opening for part-time office assistant that will potentially move to full-time after 3 months and has the advancement potential to office manager. This role will support the professional staff and the operations of the office. The duties will primarily include:

 

  • Answering the phone, taking messages and processing member request for registration, or other information
  • Receiving and distributing the mail
  • Maintaining and ordering supplies and office equipment maintenance
  • Processing credit card payments through paypal
  • Updating the database – excel and civicrm
  • Making deposits and preparing reports for the accountant
  • Updating information on various list serves
  • Monitoring website functions by continuously viewing pages and checking links

 

Hours:

Monday 9am – 4:30 pm

Tuesday – Friday 12 – 4:30 pm

No weekends or evenings required with the exception of the annual meeting

 

Experience:

  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office products – Word, Powerpoint,  Excel, etc
  • Ability to adapt skills to other similar software
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to handle difficult customers
  • Organized and able to be flexible when things are not always in order
  • Bonus – familiar with Constant Contact, Joomla and CiviCRM

IIABNY, Inc (A New York based Trade Association representing independent insurance agents and brokers) is seeking an enthusiastic, results driven individual who will be responsible for developing, managing and coordinating marketing and communication strategies and activities that support  association goals and objectives.

The Position:

·         Plan, develop, direct and implement association wide marketing and communication strategies and plans

·         Collaborate with all department heads to create and implement marketing and communications strategies and materials that support individual department goals and objectives

·         Manage the marketing and communications team (2 other team members)

·         Establish and monitor budgets

·         Oversee Web site functionality, marketing and communication implementation processes and provide quality control for programs, media and special projects

·         Help coordinate and implement various elements of association meetings and conferences with particular focus on the marketing, promotion, communication and creative atmosphere of the events

·         Serve as IIABNY staff champion for Trusted Choice and CAP programs

·         Manage all Web 2.0 activities

·         Public speaking engagements at member events, trade shows, and video marketing initiatives, etc

The Qualifications

·         BA in marketing advertising, communications or public relations

·         5 years related experience

·         Excellent written, oral and presentation skills

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media applications and design software

·         Basic knowledge of HTML, video and audio production and editing software

·         Direct Management experience is desired

·         Fluency in English, Bi-Lingual is desired

·      Designs and delivers workshops, seminars, and other developmental events for public school boards and administrators.

·      Designs curriculum, instructional materials, workshop formats, and training techniques.

·      Involves frequent statewide travel, evening and weekend work, and the self-discipline to work within a flexible schedule.

 

The Qualifications:

 

·      BA required; MA preferred.

·      Minimum of three years experience delivering training and developing curriculum for adults.

·      Expertise in instructional design and group facilitation in an educational or corporate training environment.

·      Excellent written, public speaking, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

·      Background in public education, educational technology and distance learning strongly preferred.
