Behind direct compensation and health care, retirement benefits are the next most important offerings an association can provide to an employee. However, bench-marking “What should we offer?” is a problem organizations face every day because of the diversity of what is available in the marketplace. This session will cover the different packages that can be offered, the pros and cons of each, and how to design the retirement plan for your association as part of the overall compensation package. Furthermore, certain types offerings can be used as niche benefits to reward, attract, and retain key people.  

In addition to these key points, this space in general has come under increasing regulatory scrutiny over the last several years. Knowing who is a fiduciary on these plans, how they should go about protecting themselves, and what are the best practices to make sure the plans are managed with an expert standard of care has become paramount regardless of the size of the organization.
