Program Agenda

About the Education

This year's virtual spring summit will feature two (2) panel discussions.

Remote vs Back to the Office

Beginning May 19, New York will lift most capacity restrictions on businesses, venues, and gatherings. Office capacity will be increased to 75% beginning May 15 - social distancing, masks, health screenings, and all other State health and safety protocols will remain in effect.

While more and more people have been vaccinated, what does this mean for the traditional office culture? Are associations prepared to continue the remote work life, or is there an expectation of returning to the office? What should an organization consider when it comes to remote employee engagement, performance, and incentives?

Join ESSAE for a panel discussion that will cover the questions above and much more, including:

  • Advantages and disadvantages of transitioning back to an in-person office environment or staying 100% remote
  • Technology and infrastructure, cybersecurity, and remote office setup
  • Lease renewals, co-working, and office downsizing options and considerations
  • New HR policies for remote and in-person employees
  • Remote employee performance, incentives, and engagement
  • Performance management and employee efficiency
  • Costs to support remote employees

Our panel includes:

Miriam Dushane, PHR, SHRM-CP, Managing Partner, Alaant Workforce Solutions
Sara McDonnell, Community Manager, Hone Coworks
Dave Vener, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, TAG Solutions, LLC
Pete Zimek, CAE, Founder & CEO, Novi AMS

Hybrid Events: Budget, Technology, and the Future

While in-person event capacities have eased, meeting professionals are still looking to include hybrid meetings in their event budgets, which could grow much-needed revenue, expand an association’s reach, and enable organizations to reach a wider audience of potential and current members, clients, and stakeholders.

The biggest challenge? Price. So how do associations keep hybrid events alive, and should they? What does hybrid truly mean? Is there a way to create a “hybrid-light” production that doesn’t break the bank?

Join ESSAE for a panel discussion on the challenges of hybrid events, including budgeting, catering to two audiences, hybrid roles and staffing, small-scale hybrid events, AV requirements, platforms, and engagement. Panelists will also discuss the future of hybrid, its staying power within the association community, the impact on trade shows, and other major association events.

Our panel includes:

Shannon Licygiewicz, CEM, Director of Sales, Albany Capital Center, ASM Global
DJ McKeon, Director of Audio Visual, CMI Communications
Michael J. Shapiro, Editor, News, and Technology, Northstar Meetings Group
Michelle Lavoy, Association Manager, Capitol Hill Management Services (Client: New York Aviation Management Association)

Moderator: Victoria Palasieski, CMP, Director of Association Management, Capitol Hill Management Services

Professional development opportunities are more important now than ever before.

  • Develop employee skills, boost morale and improve recruitment efforts.
  • Employees who participate in professional development are: more engaged, loyal, and committed to meeting their company’s challenges.
  • Employees who apply new skills and knowledge to their work help their company become more competitive.

We remain committed to offering a robust learning experience, including education sessions and networking opportunities in support of your association career. Our virtual conference platform will enable live, moderated Q&A with presenters, as well as access to on-demand sessions that will be available after the event.

Delivering education virtually means attendees have access to more options. This is great news for your co-workers and colleagues too! Our virtual program allows us to reach more people in your association who can benefit from this content! We at ESSAE are proud to provide flexible, quality solutions that accommodate your employees’ needs and add greater value.
