The Annual Membership Meeting offers ESSAE members, colleagues, and industry partners around the state the opportunity to acknowledge the great work accomplished by our 2022 volunteer leadership, install the 2023 Board of Directors, highlight the Society's accomplishments, and hear more about future initiatives. 

This year’s annual membership meeting will be digital and broadcast starting at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2023! Attendance will be complimentary and advanced event registration is encouraged.  Event details will be updated here - coming soon!

2023 Board Slate

Official Announcement of the 2023 Board Slate
Join us for the digital annual membership meeting on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 12:30 PM

This is the official announcement of nominees for the ESSAE Board of Director positions for 2023, as proposed by the ESSAE Nominating Committee. 

The Nominating Committee, comprised of Maura Ryan (chair), Kelly Garceau, Todd Garofano, Kim Keenan, and Kristen Phillips, selected board candidates which it felt would assist in strengthening the association’s mission by ensuring that important board decisions regarding the association would be handled with the exercise of sound and objective judgment; maintaining a high level of commitment to the association; attending and participating in board meetings and association functions on a regular basis; consistently keeping abreast of association issues and board materials; and possessing leadership qualities and capabilities, in order to reflect a positive profile for the Society. 

 The Committee unanimously recommends the following directors for re-election to the 2023 Board of Directors:

  • Tim Atkinson, Executive Director, NYS Veterinary Medical Society;
  • Meagan Bowker, CAE, Section Head & Senior Association Manager, Capitol Hill Management  Services, Inc.;
  • Adam Jacobson, Director of Sales, Villa Roma Resort & Conference Center;
  • Chris Neuber, President, Eastern New York Coalition of Automotive Retailers;
  • Megan Osika, Vice President, Park Strategies, LLC
  • Gina Potfora, CMP, Vice President of Member Services, ACEC New York; and
  • Jeanine Santelli, PhD, RN, Executive Director, American Nurses Association—New York; and
  • Amanda Grace Wing, Deputy Executive Director, ASBO New York

 The Committee unanimously recommends the following new candidates to the slate of directors for 2023:

  • Kelly McMahon, CEO, NYS Network for Youth Services
  • Katie Phelps, Sales Manager, Radisson Hotel Corning
  • Donna Stelling-Gurnett, President/CEO, Association of Proprietary Colleges

 The Board of Directors elects the following as its Officers for 2023:

  • Chair: George Swain, Ed.M., CAE, Director for  Evaluation & Professional Learning, NYS Association of Independent Schools
  • Vice Chair: Ashley Ranslow, New York State Director, National Federation of Independent Business 
  • Secretary: Addy Waldie, CMP, Director of Development & Marketing, Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region
  • Treasurer: Jennifer Van Ort, Executive Director, NYS Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers 
  • Immediate Past Chair: Jeremy Johannesen, CAE, Executive Director, Chief Officers of State Library Agencies 

An election will take place during the February 8, 2023 Annual Membership Meeting.  Additional nominations may be made from the floor at any election, in accordance with the bylaws of this association. Officers will be installed following the election of directors.

Annual Awards Luncheon

Our 2022 award winners will be celebrated as a separate in-person event! The Annual Awards Luncheon will be held in conjunction with the Meetings, Membership, and Marketing Institute (TripleM) in March - More details coming soon!
