All of us at ESSAE want to say thank you for being a member of our organization. Thank you for making us an association unlike any other. YOU are the very heart of ESSAE and the reason why we do what we do. Thank you for inspiring us and continuing to ignite our passion to serve you.

While 2025 has been more of a return to “normal” for many of us, challenges for the association community have continued, and we recognize our members have been impacted both professionally and personally. To help all members continue to navigate during uncertain times, here are some of the ways we are continuing to work for you:

Trusted Network of Peers - Knowing that you are not alone in facing the challenges of a pandemic has made all the difference to our members. Being a part of ESSAE ensures access to thought-leaders, decision-makers, and like-minded individuals who care about you and your success.

Premium Education - Providing members educational programs that are accessible, affordable, and customized is paramount. We’ve partnered with industry leaders and our own members to offer numerous workshops with insights to help you and your organization not only survive, but thrive in the future. We are committed to continue to deliver engaging, informative, and transformative virtual and in-person education and conferences.  

Relevant Resources - ESSAE is committed to keeping you informed and distributing helpful resources for today, tomorrow and beyond. Samples, templates, models, case studies research and more, are all at your fingertips. 

Rita Lashway Scholarship: Supporting Your Professional Goals. The Rita Lashway Scholarship program offers professional development grants for industry certification and access to ESSAE’s association leadership academy. We know that members need professional development funds now more than ever and we are happy to support all members on their professional journey.  

Advocacy: Our Advocacy Day efforts continue to raise awareness of the importance and impact of associations and industry partners to the vitality of New York State, as well as heighten awareness by elected officials that ESSAE is the “go-to” source on matters relating to the association community.

Economic Impact: New York associations have a major economic impact on our state’s economy. Plus - ESSAE members understand the commitment to do business with each other.

ESSAE is your professional association and we wouldn’t be here without you. We value your commitment and look forward to your continued participation throughout this year and beyond.

2026 Membership Categories & Annual Dues*

  • Primary Member: $275 (Association) - First person to join from a non-profit, trade, professional, or business association (staffengaged in the management of associations); includes convention & visitor bureau (CVB) president/CEO/executive directors/staff.
  • Secondary Member: $155 (Association) - Second person from an entity that already has a primary member.
  • Additional Staff: $90 (Association) - All others from an entity that already has a primary or secondary member.

Supplier Member: $399 (Supplier/Vendor/Industry Partner) - These members include essential vendors and professionals such as    hotels, venues, caterers, publishers, banks, CPAs, HR, web designers, IT companies, marketers, and many more professional service providers that serve the association professional members of ESSAE.

  • Additional Supplier Member: $205 (Supplier/Vendor) - All others from an entity that already has a primary associate member.

Affiliate Member: $155 - For those individuals not covered by a Primary or Associate Membership, with a special interest in association management, or individuals who spend less than 50% of their working time on association activities. (government officials, faculty, etc.)

Retired Member: $55 - For individuals who have reached retirement age and, if employed as a business professional, work less than an average of 20 hours per week, calculated on an annual basis.

Student Member: $30 - For individuals attending a university, college, or technology school with an interest in association management, meetings, or event planning. Student members may not be currently working full-time with associations.

 *Membership runs January 1 through December 31 - a calendar year. If applying after April 1st, an invoice will be emailed to you with a pro-rated amount. ESSAE dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution, but may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.  The membership application can be completed online. If you would like to pay via credit card, please complete the form and an invoice will be emailed to you. For security purposes, we encourage you NOT to email your credit card details to ESSAE.
